Bidding Details

Live Bidding

On Auction day you must register for a Bidding Paddle (a bright yellow card with a number that is given you for that Sale only). Dodds does not charge a registration fee. You hold up the number for the Auctioneer when you want to bid on something.

Absentee Bidding

If you cannot be at the Auction, or you must leave before the item you want to bid on comes up, you may complete an Absentee Bid Form and give it to the office staff.

Costs & Guarantees

You are responsible for all the purchases you make through both forms of bidding after the Auctioneer says “Sold”. It is also your responsibility to inspect all the items you are interested in before you bid on them. Most things are sold As-Is and there are no refunds. The exception is when an important part of an item is not visible – such as electrical or mechanical components. Dodds Auction offers a limited guarantee on these types of things, which would include stereos, electrical appliances, computer hardware, power tools and motors. The Guarantee is good until noon on the Saturday immediately following our regular Wednesday auction. If there is a problem but you cannot return the item on the Saturday, you must call and tell us about it by then. For Special Auctions, the guarantee time will be announced.

*** Important ***

We must charge both 7 % PST and 5% GST on most items as well as a 10% buyer's premium plus GST.
If you have a tax exemption you must make it known to us when you pay for your purchases and provide details.
